ウミガメ

6月10日にウミガメが産卵に来たとお伝えしました。
その数日後もやや南よりに上がってきました。
どちらも産卵せずに帰ったようだと考えていましたが
どっこい、ちゃんと産卵していました。
一昨日、早朝の散歩をしていた島の人が、砂から出て来て
海に向かうたくさんの小ガメを見つけました。
海の方角がわからない迷子は波打ち際まで運んでやったそうです。

この子たちが再びここへ帰ってくるのは何年、何十年後でしょうか。
やれ進歩だ、成長だとなにかと騒々しい時勢ですが
彼らが産卵にまた戻ってきた時も、篠島の海と砂浜が
今と変らぬ美しい姿であってほしいと心から願っています。
